SRT is a great protocol and we use it in our gateway (Quickstream Node) to establish media connections with its all advantages (security, reliability and low latency). However, managing workflows with multiple channels, connections, accesses, and various protocols may be challenging and requires good tools. That's why we build Quickstream Cloud to manage your whole network consisting of Quickstream Nodes and other equipment from one management panel. We have also developed Quickstream protocol to allow users to establish connections automatically. Rather than configure connections by providing IP addresses and ports, configuring firewalls, and manually entering all details Quickstream users can configure and share live feeds with a single click of a button. No advanced configuration required nor technical knowledge.
The configuration is dynamic, so if the sender or receiver IP address changes the connections are re-established automatically. From now on sharing live feeds is done in a true cloud fashion. It saves time and money, especially with more advanced content distribution networks.

Quickstream is a software solution, so all you need is just a PC running on Windows or Linux. Please refer to our knowledge base for more information. In some cases and custom projects, we may also provide hardware with pre-installed software. Please contact support for more information.
Yes, definitely. For full security, your signal can be encrypted with industry-standard AES 128/256 encryption algorithm.
We are using industry SRT protocol to solve problems related to transmission over the Internet like packet loss, jitter, etc. SRT is using ARQ (Automatic Repeat Request) technology to protect your signal from network-related problems.
At the moment we never transcode your signal and we are not changing its quality.

If you are using Quickstream Node connections are always going through your infrastructure. The delivery gateway can also work in a fully private environment without access to the Internet.
If you are using QUICKSTREAM CLOUD you need to log in to each Quickstream Node to the cloud. Live content media streams are in general point to point connections without going through our infrastructure. In some rare cases, firewalls may media connections and you have to open ports on your firewall.

Bandwidth depends on stream bitrate and overhead. Overhead is a typical 25%. Due that Quickstream is not capable of transcoding, encoding, and decoding at this moment. It will not change the bitrate of your stream. So if your encoder produces an 8mbit stream you will need 8mbit + 25% for overhead that gives you 10mbit of bandwidth. Notice that if you have 4 channels with the same stream you will need 4x 10mbit. Even if streams go in the same location as a backup. Also, you should keep 5-10% of the margin of bandwidth for safety reasons.
