About the company
Polcast Media Distribution's portfolio includes 4 TV channels: Tele5, WaterPlanet, NovelaTV, and Polonia1. The last one is one of the longest broadcasting commercial television in Poland, established in 1993. All stations are available via satellite and cable networks, and thanks to the cooperation with Mediatool and 4VOD - they are available in HD and SD quality.
Polcast Television challenge
Polcast Television reached out to Quickstream™ at the beginning of 2020. The broadcaster was looking for a reliable and cost-effective solution for the distribution of their linear channels. Polcast Television was in need of delivering prime distribution and backups (of its four channels) to its partner in Italy and to deliver the prime link (with two channels) to its partner in Australia. The whole network is supposed to be integrated and maintained by an external partner, who will also take care of the further distribution of content. During the cooperation, Polcast Television asked Quickstream to also provide the internal distribution of live feeds between their studios in Poland.

Our software is used for signal distribution within the internal infrastructure and delivering live feeds to international partners. Our team is responsible not only for operating a dedicated IP link that delivers four channels (WATER PLANET, TELE5, P1, NOVELA TV) to the partner in Italy but also for maintaining backups of those channels which is provided by Quickstream software.
Quickstream is also used for the distribution of NOVELA TV and WATER PLANET channels to the partner in AUSTRALIA. The solution works smoothly delivering the same feed quality on both sides of transmission even between continents. That is why both companies are looking brightly for extending their cooperation in the future.
